Monsters vs Aliens vs Cell Phones

Daniel and I did go and watch Monsters vs Aliens today. I highly recommend the movie, but it is a must to go and see it in RealD 3D. I was dodging rock fragments and meteors until I got use to the 3D! It is viewed in Reald, a new 3D technology and it is amazing. You can read up on it at www.reald.com

The story line is better than I expected and quite hilarious. I asked Daniel what his favorite part was, and he said, "Listening to you laugh." Way to melt my heart! We followed up the movie with some lunch to complete our date. It was nice to spend time alone with him- especially since he will be starting school this year. Sad.

On an unhappy note, my cell phone quit working today. I bought this one right before Coral was born and no one had anything like it. It was a Razor phone, but it was pink and had etched flowers on it- not decals I put on there, but actual etched flowers. Oh well. I was able to get another phone for $14.00 and I can listen to music on it along with keep my days organized! As for the old phone, I kept it as a memento and Coral now uses it. So here's a pic of my new phone and I quite like it. It even has Guitar Hero III on it!

Drink Milk?

Since having children, Carlo and I have had a code phrase for when we want to be intimant with each. This phrase use to be "Wanna drink milk tonight?" Let me stress, use to be . . .

This evening, we were sitting around and talking when Daniel says, "Mom, I have a great idea!" I'm never sure what his great ideas are going to be, but this one really surprised me.

"How about instead of Dad, you and I have a date and drink milk tonight!"

Ooops. I quickly added that we should have some milk and cookies. If he only knew. We will no longer be using that phrase!

However, I do think Daniel would like some mom time, so I told him we could plan a night where he and I could just go out. I really want to take him to Monsters vs Aliens. I think he'd love that movie.

How Do You Discipline Your Children?

Yesterday was a very busy day spent shopping. I hit five stores with the kids and one by myself. Yep. I am crazy. While we were in the first store, Daniel begins Twenty Questions:

"Mom, do you like to hit me?"

"No, of course not!"

"Mom, do you like to spank me?"

"No."

"Mom, do you like to flick my ear?"

"No, I don't."

"Mom, do you like to hurt me?"

"Never! I love to give you hugs and kisses all the time!"

Meanwhile, I'm sweatin' it since there is a couple (without children) standing next to us and giving me a wary eye. Seriously, where do children come up with this stuff?!

While we were checking out at another store, Daniel asked for a bag of chips. Grocery stores have put the best marketing strategy into effect by placing all the yummy food and cool toys right at check out and eye-level for children. I obliged to his request (as this was our fourth store). Coral was ecstatic to get Funions (my fav when I was little), but was somewhat upset when I placed them on the counter to check out. She turned around, pointed her little pudgy finger at the checkout person and began to yell, "No, no, no! You timeout!" over and over. I just chuckled.

Well, we were able to get out of town the first of March all due to the Volle's. Thank you! The two families all packed up into one vehicle and headed up to Brian Head so Carlo could finally see one of my favorite places in the world and to experience snow boarding. He had alot of fun, but let's just say, he still loves surfing and the soft impact of the water.

Besides the fun in the snow, Daniel did get altitude sickness and puked on his plate while we were at dinner in the pizza joint. That was a first for me- kids puking in a public place. Yikes!
